He was also greatly responsible for breaking the Enigma code during World War II. In January of 1952, Alan Turing was arrested for having sex with another man. As part of his conviction, he was forced to take estrogen hormone injections or risk going to jail. On June 7th, 1954 Alan Turing killed himself by eating half of a poisoned apple, he was 41.
